The American narrative relies on the idea of forward momentum – ever changing, ever improving. Yet some cities in America including Youngstown may feel stuck in a moment, stuck in the hardship of the past with a gnawing sense that recovery is impossible, or a least far off in another time, another life.
We may feel stuck in a moment ourselves, unable to move past a heartbreak or disappointment. This Sunday we will read a story from the first testament of Lot’s wife turning into a pillar of salt, of her experience of being stuck in a moment. How can we creatively respond to being stuck?
Come Sunday, and find out.
