Sharing Our Sorrows

During the past month we have been intentional in the sharing of our joys with one another.  How wonderful and natural it feels to do so! But what about our sorrow?  How often do we share our pain, our sadness, our grief?

“Be gracious to me, O Lord, cries David in the Psalms, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also. For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.” Do you think God heard David’s cries for help?

What if in addition to sharing our sorrows with our God (and our therapists) we shared them with the people closest to us-our friends, our families, our co-workers, our congregations? Join us on January 30th at 11:00 AM Eastern time in person, on Zoom or on Facebook and find out why I believe that openly sharing our sorrows has the power to transform us into a more loving and compassionate people, and in doing so will lead to greater joy.
