Legislating Morality

This Sunday we we will engage the passionate thrust to pass and eventually repeal the 18th Amendment – prohibition of the sale of alcoholic beverages. In a time when we are continuing to question our constitutional amendments, it is important to discern for ourselves the roles and limits of government, the role of church, and the role of the individual.
The 18th amendment was passed in an attempt to bring moral balance to our country, and yet it had unintended consequences. Can we legislate morality?
Come Sunday, to enter Prohibition.
