Facing Stigma through Resilience

Resilience is how people respond to challenges and grow from their experiences. Everyone encounters that sense of being an outsider at some point in their life.  Why is that experience both frightening and promising?  Feeling different from others can potentially create isolation and fear. Yet, people also learn how to improvise, take risks, and develop social connections as they face difficulties. The focus of this service is to highlight some of the ways that individuals and communities build resilience and help one another overcome feelings of helplessness, shame, or stigma.
