Widening the Circle: Radical Hospitality

“He drew a circle that shut me out,
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout,
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him in.- Edwin Markham.

As Unitarian Universalists we all try to live our principles.  We believe in the “inherent worth and dignity of all.” We promote “Justice, equity and compassion in human relations”. We believe in “Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth”. We strive for “world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all”. We believe “we are all connected.”

Sometimes these principles can be challenging to follow, especially when dealing with those who do not think the same as we do. In fact, we may treat people that we do not agree with as “others.” Perhaps we can agree that there is mystery to the Universe; that we are all explorers!

Join us on Sunday February 27th at 11:00 AM Eastern at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, Ohio, as we share our stories with one another.  Join us in singing the songs in our hearts. Join us while we explore some ways that we may widen the circle.
