An Open Invitation to Join a Newly-Forming UUYO Group Tuesday, August 17th at 7:00 pm
This is an open invitation to all members and friends of UUYO to join a newly-forming group! We’re so new we don’t have a name yet.
Earlier this summer, a number of us were inspired by Reverend Joseph’s sermon about his experiences with a Unitarian church in Transylvania. He shared information about the UUA’s Partnership Church program, so we looked into it as a possibility for UUYO to establish a relationship with Unitarians from another country.
As we took a closer look, we realized that being in such a relationship could be beneficial to both congregations, but we also realized that since the Partnership Church leadership seems to be in flux and we are still in a global pandemic, this might not be the best time to do any international work.
But we remain inspired! We are looking into how we might partner with a local marginalized or ethnic community to share programming, offer mutual support, and have some fun together.
We are in the initial planning stages still, so this would be a great time to join us, especially as we look to actually being together again soon. We are exploring what programs exist in the Mahoning Valley and how we might fit into that programming.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, August 17th at 7:00 pm via UUYO’s Zoom account.
We are excited about the possibilities and hope you join us!
