The Passion narrative in Matthew describes the physical aftermath of Jesus’ death on the earth: “Then Jesus cried with a loud voice and breathed his last. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, and the rocks were split.”

This year Earth Day follows directly after Easter Sunday. It is wise for us to consider: Are we heeding the signs of death, and yes, resurrection?
