There are many different kinds of hunger. Besides physical hunger, one of the most debilitating and painful hungers is the inability to take in what life offers us. In the Buddhist tradition, they refer to those with this particular malady as “hungry ghosts,” those who believe they are unworthy, or who have deep prejudices that prevent them from taking in life giving sustenance – it’s literally hard for them to swallow.
Come this Sunday, to feed the hungry ghosts.
